Positive Therapy is an innovative and effective method in the treatment of psychological discomfort. Thanks to the progress in health sciences, it’s been observed that this model is more effective when it’s complemented with strategies that work on the optimization of resources, of the strengths that all people have.
The IEPP team of psychologists was a pioneer in bringing Positive Psychotherapy to Spain in 2008. Since then, of all the people who have completed a positive psychotherapy in the IEPP, 100% have improved. The average improvement is 46%. These results have made us the reference center for Positive Psychotherapy in Spain.

César’s been to the hospital several times because he felt chest jabs and his left arm hurt. It’s not the first time this happens to him. Throughout his life, his health (or rather the lack of it) has been very present in his life.
When he comes to see me, he does so because his general practitioner recommended that he go to a psychologist. César is not sure about it, he knows something is wrong with him but the doctors can't figure out what it is. Even so, he agrees to come because he’s read that stress is a cardiovascular risk factor, and therapy may help protect his heart that worries him so much.
Reading on the Internet, finding data about his symptoms or running tests that come out negative are the only things that calm him down.
César had a panic attack once, he thought it had been a heart attack but the emergency room told him that his heart was healthy, that it was anxiety and they recommended rest.
Sometimes the mind plays tricks on us. César is a very intelligent man, he manages a team of insurance advisers in a large company. He’s very valued in his work. However, in his personal life, he doesn't have trustworthy people to spend time with, he feels lonely, even if it’s difficult for him to admit it.
At a glance, César needs to learn to manage his stress. A deeper look will allow us to see that what he really needs is to feel in control of what happens, he tends to obsess and his life revolves around his worries. Realizing this isn’t easy, but when César looked at his timeline, at what generated negative emotions and what produced positive emotions, he saw clearly that his health concerns were the tip of the iceberg.
Throughout the whole process of Positive Psychotherapy, one of the techniques that most helped César to improve was meditation. It allowed him to be more aware of the thoughts that were taking him out of the state he wanted, and he began to choose when he wanted to react and when he didn't. Besides, we were able to induce positive emotions in his leisure life, which helped him fill his mind with more constructive thoughts than those he had about his health.
When we feel bad, we are so involved in our life that it seems that what happens to us is very difficult to change or even has no solution. Cases like César's are an example of improvement that allows us to see that there are solutions and that they are within our reach.

Sometimes we have doubts
before taking the step
to call a psychologist
These are the most
frequent ones that
patients tell us:
Will I feel comfortable?
Is this method effective in my particular case?
How many sessions will I need?
How do you process personal data?
What’s the price?
Is it entirely confidential?
These and many other concerns appear when we anticipate a moment in which we’re going to share very personal aspects with a stranger. The best way to approach them is through a first contact where you can put a face to the professional and ask all these questions without any commitment.
This space helps you to resolve those doubts and the psychologist with whom you speak will help you decide if the Positive Psychotherapy method solves your need or if another specialty is better.
